The History of The Gladiators

Guild History

Foreward

I am not writing this to brag or to complain or to lie. I am writing this to tell you what we have gone through over our years of existence. Throughout the story you will find members that you may know, and members whom were dear to us that are now gone, such as the brothers Fatrollmcgee and Tubtubbob whom transfered years ago, or the Hardcore PvPer, Mommio, whom still resides among us on an alt, Kayberz. I've divided this up into chapters, so just scroll down as you go. This whole thing is just something for people to read, whether they are members or not, for pure enjoyment. I would just like to make a final statement before I begin, all of this is true and has been put together through my memories and the memories of the former and current members. With that said, Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Founding

It began on Demon Soul. The exact date was December 28th, 2006. I was level 7 at the time and was one of the original ten founders. Of the original ten only about three names were documented, those were Farimir, Buddizzle, and Albiker. The others all decided to leave the guild soon after it's creation, it is assumed that they left Demon Soul and possibly WoW altogether. I was left with the position of leader while the other two helped as much as they could. I cannot recall all that happened within the first week except that we recruited as heavily as possible. Albiker and myself were becoming friends and it was soon that he went inactive and I never heard from him again.

Chapter 2: The Original Gladiators

The months that followed the guild's founding brought in the first generation of members. These were the original guild members. In January of 2007, a close friend of mine joined the game and guild. His name was Person (A name taken from an old character of mine back before I joined WoW). Shortly after we began playing together I met a close friend of Buddizzle's, Howen. Howen was in his early 20's level wise when he joined, about 10 behind Buddizzle. By this time I was about level 14 - 15 and was happy to have him aboard. We soon got to know each other well enough over guild chat. Soon the subject of tabards came up, with both Howen and Buddizzle urging myself to purchase one for the guild. The only problem was that I did not have enough money. Howen, tired of waiting and eager to see them then sent me all of the money needed for the tabards along with a personal note attached to it. I still have that note today, about 2.3 years later. Grateful for his generosity I requested that Howen design the tabard himself, which he did. That tabard is still the one we have today.

Over the course of a few weeks we began to develop as well a friendship as you can over WoW. I'm sorry to say that in those weeks were the final days that I would see Buddizzle for about a year. It was strange, one day he was on and active as ever, the next, he was gone. Howen told us he decided to quit, I think to play Guild Wars, but Howen also said that he would stay with us. As I saw Howen rise in level, reaching 40, my curiosity got the better of me. I was about level 16 - 20 and had an extreme itch to participate in World PvP. Howen agreed to take myself and Person out into the Arathi Highlands and kill some Horde.
